In times of pandemic, prevention is always the best medicine. Coordination and monitoring of health care in companies is a viable and effective alternative in reducing the rates of absenteeism, absenteeism and cases of psychological illnesses, such as depression. Thinking about the physical and mental well-being of its employees, and the best result of these indicators, Hospital Moinhos de Vento launched the Saúde Plena Moinhos Program in March this year. Close to completing five months since its launch, with more than four thousand consultations, the program integrates the Occupational Medicine services, the benefits focused on the employee's health and primary care assistance by a multidisciplinary team.
The doctor responsible for Saúde Plena Moinhos, Dr. Fabiano Barrionuevo, reveals that similar projects are already common in Europe and North America. “At Saúde Plena Moinhos, we bring the primary care model, widely used as the main form of access to health in developed countries. Our doctors work in the prevention of diseases, in the promotion of health and in dealing with health problems of our employees. The program integrates the health benefits offered and the institution's network of specialists, thus offering comprehensive health care ”, he highlights.
Since its inauguration, Saúde Plena Moinhos has incorporated Covid-19 monitoring to employees, in parallel to all other needs, such as routine consultations, review of exams, consultations for acute clinical complaints, chronic diseases, among others. Follow-up is carried out by the service nurse. Employees with chronic illnesses who tested positive for Covid-19 are monitored remotely, periodically. “It is a differential in the health care of employees, as they receive all the orientations related to their specific case, in addition to scheduling the return to the ambulatory of Saúde Plena Moinhos for continuity of care”, adds Vanderléia Ceréser, coordinator of the External and Health Units Full Mills.
To date, about 30% of the employees of Hospital Moinhos de Vento have been served by Saúde Plena Moinhos. “In the midst of a pandemic, our employees need to be ready to exercise care. Saúde Plena Moinhos has the fundamental role of providing support for these professionals. Our team provides tranquility and security, aiming at full recovery and safe return to work. We offer clinical and psychological support, guaranteeing the maintenance of the activities of the teams that work directly or indirectly in the fight against the virus. We follow the mission of the Hospital, taking care of those who care ”, concludes Barrionuevo.

The Superintendent of Operations and Government, Tanira Torelly Pinto, considers that it is increasingly necessary to prevent people from becoming ill due to conditions that could be avoided or prevented, by offering coordinated, comprehensive and personalized care. “Through the Plena Moinhos Health Program, we propose to map the needs and build proposals that meet the health needs of employees,” he emphasizes. “Taking care of health and not only treating diseases. This is our main objective: to take care of the health and well-being of our employees and future partners. ”
New business from Saúde Plena Moinhos
The Plena Moinhos Health Program is a new business model of the Hospital Moinhos de Vento, with the first client being the institution itself. The program is available for implementation in institutions of interest through the Hospital Moinhos de Vento Empresas service. “We have a broad portfolio of services provided to companies, both in company and at the Moinhos de Vento Hospital Units, including Occupational Health and Saúde Plena Moinhos. The services meet the needs of companies in the care of their employees' health, optimizing resources, ensuring resolution, quality and safety, with professionals and protocols from an institution of excellence in health ”, reveals Vanderléia Cereser.
The role of Telemedicine
Telemedicine has been part of the history of the Moinhos de Vento Hospital for approximately five years, and with the Covid-19 pandemic, distance care has become an important ally of Saúde Plena Moinhos, becoming part of the process of monitoring the employees' health. For the Digital Health coordinator, Dr. Felipe Cabral, it is important to guarantee a complete digital journey for the patient and also the collaborator. “We are partners of Saúde Plena Moinhos in this mission. To date, we have carried out more than three thousand consultations with our employees by Telemedicine, which includes teleconsultations in nursing, general practice, psychiatry, psychology and telemonitoring. We accompany employees from the onset of symptoms to the time of discharge, supporting and guiding on issues of isolation, prevention, diagnosis and treatment. At the moment, we are expanding, offering even more quality and agility in service and remote monitoring. Certainly, the partnership between Saúde Plena Moinhos and Telemedicine will be expanded in the coming months, consolidating this digital service model ”, projects Cabral.
