Opened in 1927, Hospital Moinhos de Vento is one of the most highly regarded health institutions in Brazil. Located in Porto Alegre, state of Rio Grande do Sul, our values taking care of life, constantly seeking quality, and commitment to society.

A benchmark in terms of patient care and medical and health service, our Hospital has been certified by the Joint Commission International (JCI) since 2002 and has an affiliation agreement with Johns Hopkins Medicine International. Our Hospital runs excellence centers in several medical specialties, prominently in neurology and neurosurgery, cardiology, orthopedics and traumatology, oncology, mother-child care, pediatrics, nephrology, and respiratory medicine.

Foreign patient health services

Hospital Moinhos de Vento has a team specializing in serving foreigners. Our International Patient Healthcare Team (TAPI) remains with patients from the time they enter our Hospital until they are discharged, sees to the best type of accommodation, and helps out with other needs, such as family member lodging. Our hospital staff includes people who are fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, German, and French.

EDUCATION AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Education and research are pillars of Hospital Moinhos de Vento's work. By means of the Education and Research Institute (IEP), our Hospital has been training healthcare professionals since 1927, all the while dedicating ourselves to scientific development in Brazil and abroad.

Tradition in education and research.

Today, IEP offers technical and lato sensu graduate programs, residency programs, and an Executive MBA in Health. We also conduct clinical-epidemiological studies in collaboration with our physicians and staff from our Hospital's other departments, researchers from public and private universities in Rio Grande do Sul, and the Ministry of Health.
